Selinunte: Temple C from south  (Athena Review)


Temple C is the earliest temple which can be seen at Selinunte. It was built  in the early 6th century BC, replacing earlier central megarons or halls, contained within the tenemos at the highest point on the Acropolis.

A total of 14 doric columns have been re-erected along the north side of Temple C. Three metope reliefs were found in 1821 and are in the Palermo Museum.
