Temples C and D, both Doric peripteral temples, are aligned within the ancient urban sanctuary of the acropolis. Temple D (at  left) was begun ca. 535 BC, about 15 years after the completion of the larger temple C, whose north colonnade is at right.

Temple D, stylistically more developed than C,  had 6 by 13 columns,. and the revetments were of stone rather than terra-cotta. The fluted columns were no longer straight-sided but slightly convex.
