This headless terracotta figurine of Aphrodite was found in the House of Aphrodite in the Hellenistic-Roman settlement at Agrigento. It is classed with the Medici-Capitoline type of Aphrodite figurine. Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love, comparable to the Roman Venus.The figurine dates from the 3rd-1st century BC./ |
