The Stadium of Domitian, built in AD 70-80, was used as a monumental garden as well as a stadium,This nymphaeum-like structure with three small arches, built of brick and cobbles, lies at one end of the stadium of Domitian. Several relief sculptures are incorporated into the facade.A great number of sculptures have been found throughout the stadium, strongly suggesting it was also used as a garden. Most of the sculptures are now in the Palatine Museum.. |
