This 1860 albumen print by James Anderson, looking south, shows a central area of the Forum after considerable excavation has occurred. Below a bank about 5 m high, footings of the Basilica Giulia have been exposed, visible in the image foreground.
In the left background is the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, and arched vaults of the Basilica of Maxentius; at center right are three columns of the Temple of Castor and Pollux.
