This detail from a fresco painting in the 4th Style from the Temple of Isis at Pompeii shows a detail of one of several naval battles between two triermes (armed galleys) portrayed at the Temple. The standardized scene includes fantasy architecture in the background.
The painting is now in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples,
