Pompeii: Quadriportico or Gladiators' Barracks

The
Quadriportico, part of the ancient gladiators' barracks, is located in
the southern end
of Pompeii beside the Large Theater and the Odeon. This photo,
taken from the area of the Large Theater,
shows the colonnades lining all four sides of the quadriportico
compound, providing its name. One of the four porticos has been
restored with a modern roof; all were originally roofed.
