Pompeii: couch from the Forum Baths (Mazois 1829 v.3, Paris)
This 1829 drawing by Mazois shows a couch and bench found in the men's calidarium of the Forum Baths at Pompeii.
The
elegantly decorated couch with engraved paneling is embossed with a small relief of a cow, and
has sculptured legs with winged siren figures.
