This view of the whole Insula 5 of Regio VIII shows the highly detailed partitioning of space in this combined commercial and residential zone, accomodating the livlihoods of both householders and shopkeepers.
This urban partitioning is particularly marked along both sides of via dell' Abbondanza, which are lined with shops but have often large residences in the interior of the Insulae.
