	Paestum: Ionic black figure vase fragments with hoplites Paestum: Ionic black figure vase fragments (Mus.Naz.Paestum; photo Athena Review 2003)
	These Ionic black figure vase fragments dating from the 6th century BC were found in a votive deposit in the Northern Sanctuary, near the Temple of Athena at Paestum. The figures portrayed on the vase fragments are hoplites or Greek infantry soldiers carrying and hurling spears.
