Jerusalem: Section of south wall of Temple Mount (Warren 1870 PEF Report)
This section and elevation of the Triple, Double and Single Gates in the south wall of the Temple Mount was made in 1868 by the Palestine Exploration Fund (PEF), a British archaeology research unit. It was printed in the 1870 report by the PEF, edited by Charles Warren (Warren 1870).
The section drawing shows the various building layers of the wall, including the three identified gates (in orange). dating from the Herodian period of 30 BC - AD 70.
