	This map by the Italian architect Pirro Ligornio was completed in 1559. As in his map of ancient Rome, it gives three-dimensional renderings of buildings and other structures.  Sixteen of the main features of the city are numbered in a key, with translations provided. These include the Dome of the Rock, Christian religious monuments, and city gates. .
