Model of Roman Lugdunum, or Lyon (Musée de la civilisation Gallo-Romain).
A
topographic model of Lugdunum, or Roman Lyon, shows the hill of the
Fourviere (old forum) overlooking the confluence of the Rhône and Saone
rivers, with the island of Lugdunum- Kanabe in the Rhône at left.
Plans
of the Roman city, which became the capital of the three provinces of
Gaul, are displayed along with the model in Gallery III of the Musée de
la Civilisation Gallo-Romaine, located next to the Roman Theater on the
Fourviere.
