Tomb of Horemheb (KV 57): Entrance hall (1909 photo)     .

Rubble in the entrance corridor of the Tomb of Horemheb (photo: Davis 1909)

The entranceway to Horemhebs tomb extended about 80 m underground, angling down to a depth of 28-30. This included four sets of stairways and corridors to reach the antechamber of the burial complex, which extended another 30 m to the north.

The outer entrance corridors and stairwells, as shown here, were found,
when discovered in 1908 by Davis and Ayrton, to be filled with rubble left by the original excavators.
