Pyramid of Amenemnhet III at Hawara (12th Dynasty) .


Hawara is a site in the Fayum region of lower Egypt. This photo shows the pyramid of Amenemnhet III at Hawara, dating from the 12th Dynasty (1842-1797 BC). The pyramid remains now consist of its eroded, brick core, the limestone facing having been removed long ago, probably during the Roman era.
