Pyramid complex of Amenemhet II at Dahshur
The 12th Dynasty pyramid (1842-1797 BC) was approached from the valley temple in the east via a procession road that led through pylons or gates into a temple (now gone). The pyramid had an interior tomb for Amenemhet II, reached by a staircase. Other royal tombs for the family of Amenemhet II were on the west side of the Pyramid.
