Pliopithecus
was a Miocene ape found in Europe, It was discovered
in France in 1837 by Édouard Lartet, with fossils later found in
Switzerland, Slovakia and Spain. Six species have been identified.In size it resembled a gibbon. with long limbs, hands, and feet, and may have been able to brachiate, swinging between trees using its arms. .Reference:Harrison, T. 2012.
