Chroniosuchus skull

Chroniosuchus is an extinct genus of  reptiliomorph from the Late Permian period (upper Tatarian phase), found in deposits in Russia in the Arkhangelsk, Orenburg and Vologda Regions. The genus was first identified in 1957 by Vjuschkov, and the type species is Chroniosuchus paradoxus. The genus was originally classified as an amphibian and athracosauromorph, but has since been reclassified as a reptiliomorph.

Chroniosuchus had a length of about 1.5 m or 5 ft.
