A series of four reliefs from the metope of Temple E at Selinunte were recovered in the 1830s. These include:  a) Herakles and an Amazon; b) Hera and Zeus; c) Artemis and Acteon; and d) Athena and the giant Enkeladus.

This relief shows Herakles fighting with an Amazon and holding her hair.  According to myth, Amazons lost their strength when grabbed by the hair. The relief dates from the 5th century BC.
