This 1910 photograph by Gertrude Bell of the Basilica at Hadrian's Villa shows the core and surface brickwork in the interior walls of the Basilica. The wall cores are diagonal courses of opus reticulatum, while the surface layer and vault have horizontal courses, or vertical in the lintels.
