The House of Cupid and Psyche dates to the 2nd century AD, and was rebuilt several times through the mid-4th century. It is constructed of opus mixtum and opus latericium.

This image shows the large, elaborate nymphaeum which extends along the east side of the house. It had five semi-circular niches paved with marble, separated by marble columns with small steps between their bases, where water flowed into the niches.

The house was excavated in 1938.
