Pompeii: Mosaic portrait of a woman (Nat.Arch.Mus.Naples; photo: Athena Review)
This
mosaic portrait of a young woman wearing a necklace and earrings is
from House 15 in Regio VI, Insula 13. This lifelike portrait, which is
earlier than other mosaics found in the house, appears to date from the
1st century BC. It is now in the National Archaeological Museum in
Naples.
