The House of the Golden Cupids or Amorina Dorati (VI 16, 7) is considered one of the best examples of domestic architecture and painting in the age of  Nero. Built in the 3rd c BC, the house was revised several times before AD 79.

The atrium includes both 3rd and 4th style paintings. The 3rd style paintings there, frequently with white backgrounds such as seen in this image, combine decorative architectural boundaries with mythological scenes and fantasy motifs.
