The House of the Faun (VI 12, 2) is the largest in Pompeii and originated in 180-170 BC during the Samnite period.  

This image shows frescos with alternating red and yellow zones from the east triclinium along the outer wall. This is one of two tricliniums adjacent to the tablinum, used as dining rooms during the colder months of fall and winter.
