The House of the Faun (VI 12, 2) is the largest in Pompeii and originated in 180-170 BC during the Samnite period.  The atrium is of the Tuscan type.

This view of the atrium is to the southwest across the tiled impluvium containing the faun statue, with doors of two of the bedrooms (cubiculae) at right, and the house's main entrance to the left.
