The
portal of the House of Aristides (Ins II,1) is on the west side of
Cardo III. It opens on to a small atrium with an impluvium.
The
house was named for a statue found there, supposed to be the Greek
statesman Aristides, but actually portraying Aeschines, a Greek orator.
