Paestum: Berlin Painter, red figure vase (Mus.Naz.Paestum; photo Athena Review 2003)

This two handled red figure vase (pelike) by the Berlin Painter, found in Tomb 175 in the necropolis of the Santa Venera section of Paestum, is dated at about 490-480 BC, and provides an early 5th century date for the burial.

The painting shows Dionysios walking to the right with a satyr behind.
