	The Via Dolorosa or "Street of Sorrow" dates only from Crusader times (ca. 1000-1260 AD). It is associated with the Ecce Homo arch, seen above in this 1899 photo by Gertrude Bell. The arch, formerly called the Arca Dolorosa, itself may date from Roman times. The Gertrude Bell photo archive is at Newcastle University in England. ..
