	This photo by Bonfils, dated from 1869-71, shows the exterior of the hospital of St. John at right. The Hospital was built by Crusaders in the 10th-11th centuries AD. Adjacent are the ruins of the Church of St. Mary Magna, whose apse is visible at left. Prints from Bonfils' photographs of Jerusalem are in the New York Public Library (NYPL) archive. ,
