Jerusalem: Plan of Temple Mount tunnels and cisterns

Jerusalem: Map of Temple Mount underground features (Athena Review Image Archive)

This plan of the underground features at the Temple Mount is based on 1868 plans made by Charles Wilson of the Palestine Exploration Fund, a British research organization which made extensive studies of Jerusalem and other Near East sites.

The plan shows an extensive network of tunnels, cisterns, and wells underlying the Temple Mount, some of these dating from the Herodian and Roman periods.
