Lahun: 12th Dynasty workers' houses (detail 1)    .

Three pairs of houses in the 12th Dynasty town at Lahun (after Petrie 1890, pl. xiv).

At top  is a cluster of three adjacent pairs of workers' houses from rank B on the western side of Petrie's town plan (detail 1). These are here labelled as houses 1a+1b,  2a+2b, and 3a+3b. The paired houses, shown at bottom in a superimposed drawing by Petrie, reveal very close similarities in layout. This indicates systematic planning of houses for the families of workers on the Pyramid of Senruset II, which were built as standarized units in the period of 1897-1878 BC.
