Dijon: Castle Wall, Grave stela of young woman with inscription

Dijon: Grave stela of young woman (Dijon Mus. Arch; Athena Review Image Archive)

This fragmentary Gallo-Roman grave stela from the Castle Wall in Autun, shows the head of a young woman who is memorialized as a daughter. The inscription is "AGRIC COS FILIAE".

This relief is one of many recovered from the Medieval Castle Wall, which incorporated a multitude of Roman architectural and funerary fragments as both facing stones and rubble fill.

The sculpture is in the Dijon Museum of Archaeology.
