Arney-le-Duc: Gallo-Roman Statue of Abundance

Arney-le-Duc: Gallo-Roman statue of Abundance (Musee Rolin; photo Athena Review 2012)

This limestone sculpture of the Goddess of Abundance (inv.845) was found in the Bois de Promenoy at Arney-le Duc, located about 18 miles northeast of Autun.

The left arm is draped over a large cornucopia, symbol of the deity, and a trait that links it with the sculpture of Fortuna, on the Pillar of Four Gods.
